Different facilities may recognize or require different certifications. The guidelines are very similar, with only a few minor differences. Our trainers have gone through specialized training in each organization to provide you with whichever one you need.
How long is the certification good for?
All certifications are good for 2 years. Some employers still require employees to renew annually.
How many students are in a class?
For on-location classes, we have a minimum of 6-8 students per class at this time, depending on your location. If you are further than 25 miles from Woodstock, call for individual prices and minimums. Classes done at our location have a minimum of 3.
Are your manikins latex-free?
Yes, all of our manikins as well as the gloves and face-shields that we use are latex-free.
When do I receive my card?
It depends upon the certification. ASHI certification cards will be given the same day. AHA cards take about 7 business days. The day of class, you will receive a letter stating that you have successfully completed the course, providing you pass all skills and written tests.
Are there tests that I will have to take?
Most classes involve some sort of testing: demonstration of skills, written or verbal multiple-choice test, or a combination. The tests show that you have competency in the skills and information being taught.
How do I register for a class?
You may register online by clicking on the "add to cart" button next to the scheduled class that you are interested in, or call 404-310-3318 or email info@certicareCPR.com.
What should I wear?
The courses involve hands-on practice sessions so please wear something comfortable that you can move around in. If you have long hair, it's best to wear it back. Dangling earrings, watches, and bracelets often get in the way, also.
Would CertiCare come to my location for a class?
Absolutely! We currently service the Northwest Metro Atlanta, Georgia area, but may be willing to travel further, depending on the size of the class. Additional fees may apply if the class is more than 30 miles from Woodstock.
How do I pay for the class?
We accept PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash, money orders, and Personal and Corporate Checks. Payment is expected at the time of registration to reserve your spot in the class. When registering online, you will be taken to a secure PayPal site, but you do NOT need a PayPal account to process your payment.
What if I need to cancel?
Our cancellation policy allows cancellation up to 24 hours prior to the class start with a full refund. After that, a 50% refund will be issued, or you can reschedule depending upon availability.
How does the referral program work?
For each person that you refer that completes a class, you will get a $5 or 10% credit towards your next class, whichever is less. For example, if you refer a group of 5 people for a class that is $30 per person, you will receive a $15 credit. If you refer one person for a $70 class, you will receive a $5 credit.
How come CertiCare's classes seem shorter than other programs? Are you not teaching the same material?
We have a 1:1 student to manikin ratio which allows students more practice time, with less time waiting for other students or decontaminating manikins. This makes the classes go much quicker, so you don't have to spend an entire day doing training. The material taught is all standardized through the AHA, ASHI, depending on the course taught.
