 BLS for Healthcare Providers

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professional
s the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an A
ED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for healthcare providers and allied health personnel.  
**Since the standards have recently changed, all providers must take the full course rather than the recertification course.



 CPR for the Community and Workplace

This class can be customized to suit your workplace or community needs.  Basic class includes Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED use, recovery positions, using a breathing barrier and disposable gloves, and first Aid for choking.  You can also add First Aid to this class for an extra fee.  Likewise, you can omit the Infant portion to save time and money if it is not needed.






 Babysitter Training Class with CPR

The Babysitter Training class is ideal for youth ages 11-15 and targets many important skills:

        • Care for Children and Infants
        • Be a good leader and role Model
        • Make good decisions, solve problems and stay safe
        • Communicate effectively with parents
        • Handle basic first aid emergencies such as illness, injuries, and household accidents
        • Learn CPR and Choking*

* Participants who meet all skill requirements will receive an Adult/Child/Infant CPR certificate.

 

 First Aid

Learn the skills needed to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries until advanced medical personnel arrive.
Students will be taught first aid skills such as determining unconsciousness, treating cuts, scrapes and burns, controlling bleeding, treating injuries to bones, muscles and joints and preventing and caring for sudden illness, including heat and cold emergencies.
This course does not teach rescue breathing, CPR, or first aid for choking, but can be combined with a CPR class.


 Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS)
 

Addresses how to fully assess and manage the most common medical crises in patients, offering a "think outside the box" methodology and emphasizing scene size-up, history, interactive group discussion on potential treatment strategies, and physical exam to systematically rule out and consider differential diagnoses. AMLS is endorsed by the National Association of EMS Physicians.





 Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC)

Provides an advanced and in-depth scientific understanding of the pathophysiology of the most common pediatric emergency issues, and stresses critical thinking skills to help practitioners make the best decisions for their pediatric patients. The course addresses a full spectrum of emergency illnesses, injuries and scenarios that an EMS practitioner might encounter and offers techniques that can help EMS practitioners rapidly and accurately assess life-threatening situations using the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT), and incorporates family-centered care throughout all scenarios.
